Welcome

Welcome to my stamp collecting blog! A little background about my hobby, it started when I was still young (about 12 years old) where I would collect the stamps from letters from my Father. I was self learned (the hard way). I used to tear the stamps no matter careful I am just to separate the stamps from the envelop. Then I discovered to soak them on water. At last! I finally was able to separate the stamps without damaging them. But the next challenge was to dry them. We used to heat drinking water to sterilize it. What I did was put the wet stamps on the side of the kettle to dry them quickly. It was a very effective way of drying, but it did a little damage on the back of the stamps and some even on the printed side. It was not until a few years later on that I discovered to air dry them. This was the best method I tried and use up until now.

What stamps do I collect? Well, I used to collect just anything I my hands can get. I have no theme or topic. It was until I joined Cebu Stamp Club Incorporated that I learned a lot of things and gave me exposure on how to collect stamps and develop my own theme of collection.

My first themed collection was the 2010 Philippine Stamps. The custom album was made with our organization's theme. Although still incomplete, I am happy with my collection. Few items left and I am still looking for the missing items in my 2010 collection. Right now I am collecting what you call "unique stamps". These are stamps made from special paper, has features such as globe in the dark, rock dust incorporated, and many many more. You can find in this page these unique stamps and a little information about them. I hope you enjoy viewing this page and find this interesting and informative. Enjoy!
